Fire Destroys Eight Kiosks on Jalan Drompol, No Casualties

A fire broke out kiosks on Jalan Drompol, RT 09/17, Kayu Putih Urban Village, Pulo Gadung Sub-district, at around 9 AM, Thursday (6/12).

So far, the police are still investigating the cause

"Fire quickly grew larger because of many flammable items or materials," stated Pulo Gadung Sub-district Fire and Rescue Sector (Gulkarmat) Chief, Edi Parwoko.

He explained, 75 firefighters and 15 fire engines were immediately deployed to scene and arrived at 9.07 AM.

Fire Strikes Susukan, Residents Run Out of Their Houses

"We have managed to put out the flames at 10.30 AM. Fire burned eight kiosks," he explained.

Allegedly, it was triggered by a gas leak while cooking. No casualties or injuries in the fire incident.

"So far, the police are still investigating the cause," he explained.

Meanwhile, a local resident, Azni (32), reported that the fire quickly grew larger and burned other stalls.

"Residents struggled to extinguish the fire. Fortunately, personnel arrived quickly for further handling," she stated.
