Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is about to add more Transjakarta buses, including electric buses, to provide optimal service to the community.
I believe it can parse congestion
Principally, he admitted to having agreed to this additional plan.
"Transjakarta Director has also said that it's time to add more fleets. And I agree. We are still calculating the number, including electric buses," he expressed, at Galunggung Bus Atop, Dukuh Atas, Thursday (7/3).
Transjabodetabek Bekasi-Galunggung Route Officially OperatesAccording to him, the allocation for additional electric buses was estimated to reach 300 units to accommodate the high public interest in Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek.
"If I'm not mistaken, the electric buses will increase by 300 units, but we will give more details later," he explained.
It was deemed to facilitate community mobility and provide comfort in public transportation. This effort also aimed to reduce congestion in Jakarta and its surrounding suburbs.
He added, the opening of the new Transjabodetabek route had so far received high enthusiasm from the community. Besides its adequate and clean facilities, it was also because of afforsable fares.
"Because the Transjakarta facility, which later became Transjabodetabek, everyone who has used it appreciates it because it is clean, comfortable, and compared to any other country, we're actually not behind," he explained.
Nevertheless, he admitted that public transportation connectivity is not yet comprehensive. Thereby, the Jakarta Government continued to open new Transjabodetabek routes in the buffer zones, such as Bekasi-Dukuh Atas route, which was inaugurated today.
"Because Bekasi is also one of the areas contributing the most to the migration of people to Jakarta," he added.
He assessed, the high enthusiasm of the community to use Transjakarta and Transjabodetabek services indicates a shift toward using public transportation.
"The hope is we will truly improve connectivity, and if that can be achieved, I believe it can parse congestion in Jakarta and in areas like Bekasi, Depok, Bogor, and others," he stated.
