Head of the Special Committee (Pansus) for Smoke-Free Areas of Jakarta City Council, Farah Savira, conveyed a number of directives from Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung after a meeting at Jakarta City Hall, Thursday (7/3).

Farah said that Governor Pramono emphasized that the Smoke-Free Areas Draft Regional Regulation discussion should not eliminate the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)s sector in Jakarta.
"As said by him, Cigarettes' sellers and buyers should not be affected by this regulation," she said.
City Council Targets No Smoking Area Bylaw to Be Ratified This YearShe added that the Governor also encouraged the regulation to be tightened especially in indoor areas.
"He wants the regulation to be tightened in indoor areas," she added.
During the meeting, she continued, the committee explained the regulation that regulates zoning of areas where smoking is prohibited and permitted, including the cigarette sale and purchase, and sponsorship by cigarette companies.
