Personnel Swiftly Handle Floods in Penjaringan

The related ranks responded quickly to handle the floods that hit several areas in Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta last night, Sunday (7/6). As a result, the water has gradually receded since early morning.

Penjaringan Sub-district Water Resources (SDA) Excuting Unit Head, Pendi said, the  flooded roads were Jalan Kapuk Muara Raya, Jalan Teluk Gong Raya, and Jalan Kampung Gusti. The average water height ranges from 15-30 centimeters.

"We activate three stationary pumps in Kapuk Muara and one in Kampung Gusti. The water pump has been operated since overnight," he expressed, Monday (7/7).

He explained, floods began at 9 PM yesterday. Then, 16 personnel were immediately deployed to the location.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), the flood has gradually receded and residents' activities have started to improve as usual," he added.

Kapuk Muara Urban Village Economy and Development Section Head, Heriansyah stated that 30 personnel were mobilized to help the handling of floods in Penjaringan last night.

"The channel is safe from the garbage blockage. Thus far, our personnel are still on standby to speed up the receding of water," he explained.

While the flooded areas included RW 01 (seven RTs), RW 02 (two RTs), and RW 05 (nine RTs). The water level was only 10-30 centimeters.

"So far, no residents have been evacuated," he said.
