The cancellation of inauguration of Pulogebang Terminal located in East Jakarta on June 6, causing the amount of bus fleets decreased. Even, the terminal looks deserted from passengers, despite homecoming season is getting closer.

Relaying on beritajakarta.com's data, Monday (6/29), the Pulogebang Terminal is still deserted from passengers. On the departure lane for interprovincial, located on the second floor, there is only one AKAP bus. As for the departure lane for intercity, dozens minivans type KWK and Koasi are seen parked in each corridor. On the ground floor, there are 2 Damri buses (Pulogebang- Soekarno-Hatta Airport). Similar condition also happens in ticket counters.

Umbul Gunawan, Head of Operational Service Unit for Pulogebang Terminal Technical Management Unit (UPT) conveyed that the bus operational for homecoming period will be active on 15 days before (D-15) until 9 days after (D+9) Idul Fitri. It is compliance with an executive meeting result held by Jakarta Transportation Department on last June 24. The activity includes homecoming flow security, vehicle inspection (KIR), and medical check-up for bus crew.

Recently, he added, the cause of decrease in the passenger numbers is cancellation of terminal inauguration. Earlier, there would be 75 fleets per day but now it only reaches between 17-20 fleets per day.

Gunawan added his party will prepare 49 joint officers from Army/Police, Transportation Department and Satpol PP and also install 100 CCTVs (circuit close television) to secure homecoming flow in Pulogebang Terminal. Those officers will on standby 24 hours.
