Sahdan Arya Maulana (19), Head of RT 07/08 in Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, Koja Sub-district, said he felt honored and excited after receiving a personal invitation to meet North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat.

"Hopefully, it will encourage other Gen Z people to take part in developing North Jakarta,"

Arya, the youngest RT head, went viral after managing to repair a 100-meter road in his neighborhood through a collective community initiative, just two months after he took office.

He admitted that it was the first time he could meet face-to-face with North Jakarta Mayor, Hendra Hidayat.

"It was my first time being invited by the Mayor. I'm very happy and proud. During the meeting, the Mayor even said I could contact him directly if there are any issues in my area," Arya said on Tuesday (7/15).

He added that the Mayor also encouraged him to carry out his responsibilities to the best of his ability.

"Mr. Mayor encouraged us, young people, to keep pushing forward, to do our best for the better future and become role models for other youth," he said.

He shared that he hasn't faced any obstacles during his first two months in office, thanks to the strong support of local residents.

"I hope more young people will follow my footsteps. We need to prove that we too can make a difference and change how others perceive our generation," he expressed.

On the other hand, North Jakarta Mayor Hendra Hidayat praised Arya, who was elected as RT head for 2025-2030 term in Rawa Badak Selatan.

"I'm impressed by Mr. Arya. We truly appreciate this young people, Gen Z. Despite still being a university student, he's committed to serving his community. That's something remarkable," he said.

He hopes Arya's path will inspire more young people to contribute to their communities.

"Hopefully, it will encourage other Gen Z people to take part in developing North Jakarta. Together, we can collaborate and develop the city," he asserted.
