Gov Pramono Keen to Break Online Gambling Habit Among Civil Servants

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung reaffirmed his commitment to eradicating online gambling practices, locally called judol, among Jakarta civil servants.

I want a transparent Jakarta Government

He wants to create a transparent and clean government, one of which is by taking strict action against civil servants involved in online gambling.

He expressed this statement at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) and the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) at Balai Agung Greal Hall, Jakarta City Hall, yesterday.

Pramono: Borrowing Money, Head of Malaka Sari Urban Village Dismissed

"I want a transparent Jakarta Government. So please pay attention to what the Head of PPTAK has conveyed regarding online gambling, especially for civil servants," he expressed.

He asserted, counseling would be conducted for civil servants involved in online gambling. This was because most of them were victims.

"This applies to anyone (civil servants) who plays online gambling," he asserted.

By so, Pramono would request data from PPATK regarding civil servants suspected of online gambling for counseling.

"If there is none, we will take action regarding that. One of which is that there will be no promotion for the perpetrator," he explained.

PPATK Head, Ivan Yustiavandana revealed that there were more than 600,000 online gambling players in Jakarta, with deposits totaling over Rp 3 trillion in the past year.

"The transaction amount is 17,500,000 transactions. Can you imagine the attention we need to give, the resources we must use to eliminate all of this?," he stressed.

He ensured that the PPATK was ready to provide the necessary data to help eradicate online gambling among Jakarta civil servants.

"We'll always be ready to assist with anything the Governor needs, especially regarding transaction data," he said.
