26 Residents Underwent Free Cataract Surgery

In framework of 69th Indonesian Police's Anniversary, the Metro Jaya Police held a free treatment and surgery of eye cataract on the courtyard of West Jakarta Resort Police Office, Jalan Letjen S Parman. In the data, the service managed to absorb 26 residents in West Jakarta, Tuesday (6/30).

Chief of Metro Jaya Police, Insp. Gen. Tito Karnavian conveyed the service was held to create communal togetherness (silaturahmi) between residents with police. He considered, it could change bad image that stick in citizen’s mind over the police.

“In this moment, we would like to create silaturahmi between resident and police. Moreover, many residents have not get free medical access,” he uttered, Tuesday (6/30).

Djamuri (55), one of cataract surgery participants from RT 05/07 Angke Urban Village, Tambora, West Jakarta, he was so glad as he did not spend a lot of money to cure his eye.

Alhamdulilah (thank God, I am very grateful to participate in this free service, thus I could save my money,” he disclosed.
