200 Elderly Got Free Medical Treatment

Central Jakarta Social Department with Atma Jaya Hospital held free medical treatment and gave free groceries to hundreds of elderly in KONI Building, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (6/25).

Besides checking blood pressure, the elderly who have chronic disease can be continued to be checked by recommendation letter from Atmajaya Hospital doctor and will not be charged

Head of Central Jakarta Social Dept, Marjito, explained that this program is held to commemorate the 18th National Elderly Day on last May 28. The program was enlivened by social aid giving, free medical treatment, entertainment, and competition.

He said that 200 elderly aged 60 years old above visited to this event are from Elderly Communication Forum (FKLU) and Family Compensation Center (Pusaka). These two forums are formed by public under the guidance of Central Jakarta Social Sub-Dept.

Marjito acknowledged that his party is giving aid in terms of groceries, sport clothes, and free medical treatment from Atmajaya Hospital. 

“Besides checking blood pressure, the elderly who have chronic disease can be continued to be checked by recommendation letter from Atmajaya Hospital doctor and will not be charged,” said Martijo.

Susilo Rini (63), one of elderly from FKLU, admitted to be happy to have been visited and asked to participate in this year’s National Elderly Day. Moreover, the elderly were given aid in forms of groceries and free medical treatment.  

"The program is good, people aged like me are concerned,” said Rini.

The old woman who has four grand children admitted to come to the location with her friends by riding rental mikrolet.

"I come here with my friends by riding mikrolet. We want to join in makeup contest without mirror,” uttered Rini.
