Disparekraf DKI Fasilitasi City Tour untuk 200 Delegasi Asing Dragon Boat Festival

Jakarta International Dragon Boat Athletes Invited to Visit Monas and Kota Tua

The Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Agency supports the 7th Jakarta International Dragon Boat Festival (JIDBF) 2025 by organizing a city tour for foreign delegates. About 200 athletes from Southeast Asian countries participated in the Familiarization Trip (Famtrip) on last Sunday (7/27).

"...encourage athletes to return as tourists,"

Participants were invited to visit two iconic Jakarta landmarks, the National Monument (Monas) and Kota Tua, as part of efforts to broaden the positive impacts of hosting an international event in Jakarta.

Jakarta Parekraf Agency Head, Andhika Permata, explained that the program aims to introduce Jakarta to the foreign athletes.

"Through this Famtrip, we not only want to leave a deep impression of Jakarta but also encourage athletes to return as tourists and share their experiences in their home countries. This is a strategic step to boost international tourist visits as well as promoting Indonesian cultures," he stated, Tuesday (7/29).

The famtrip participants came from Malaysia, Phillipines, Hong Kong, and other ASEAN countries. They visited Monas, a symbol of Indonesia's struggle for independence, and got the chance to ascend the Observation Deck to enjoy panoramic city views from above.

Next, the delegates visited Kota Tua Jakarta, a historic tourist destination blending colonial architecture with Betawi cultural nuances. They also explored Jakarta History Museum and Wayang Museum to learn more about the city's historical journey and richness of wayang as part of Jakarta's identity.

Jakarta Parekraf Agency's Marketing and Attraction Division Head, Sherly Yuliana, mentioned that this famtrip was one of the largest famtrips ever organized by the agency.

"We brought about 200 foreign athletes. We hope the tour they experienced leaves a lasting impression and encourages them to return to Jakarta as tourists," she said.

With the presence of international delegates and this tourist destination introduction program, Jakarta Parekraf Agency hopes Jakarta's position as an international cultural and sports tourism destination will be increasingly strong in the eyes of the world.
