It was stated by Pramono after conducting an activity to explore the Ciliwung River in the West Flood Canal for approximately three kilometers, starting from the Manggarai Water Gate to BNI City Station in Central Jakarta, Thursday (7/31).

"I ask the relevant officials, especially the Assistant for Development and Environment, to tidy up, manage and make this river a place where people can enjoy, for example on Saturday nights and Sunday nights," he said.

Improvements along the river will include reforestation and pedestrian improvements. He also stated about plans to build a dedicated bicycle crossing at the location.

The Jakarta Experience Board (JXB) will manage this area. The Governor requested that the development plan to be presented to the Deputy Governor first to ensure proper implementation.

"This is a premium place in Jakarta, so it needs to be managed well," he added.

Direct monitoring of the river condition, which is part of Jakarta's drainage system, also served to evaluate the capital's flood control function. Pramono stated that this location also plays a vital role in controlling water flow during heavy rainfall.

"One of the controls is here. There's the Manggarai Gate, the Setiabudi Gate, the KPK Gate, and so on," he explained.

Pramono confirmed that the Jakarta Provincial Government has also prepared anticipatory measures and mitigation efforts during heavy rainfall.
