54 Parking Attendants Caught for Collecting Illegal Levies in C. Jakarta

54 parking attendants from eight sub-districts were caught red-handed in Central Jakarta during an operation against illegal levies.

Central Jakarta Satpol PP Head, TP Purba stated, today's operation involved joint officers from Satpol PP, Bina Marga, and Transportation Sub-agency.

He explained, the first day of operation was held on July 30 in Sawah Besar and Gambir sub-districts. As a result, officers successfully caught 11 parking attendants, followed by actions in Gambir Sub-district where two parking attendants and one individual social welfare problem (PPKS) were netted.

Subsequently, on July 31, operations were focused on Tanah Abang Sub-district and 12 illegal parking attendants were netted. Then in Menteng area, officers arrested seven illegal parking attendants and one mentally ill person.

Then on August 1, officers detained 17 illegal parking attendants in Senen Sub-district and four illegal parking attendants in Cempaka Putih Sub-district.

Finally, on August 4, today's operation in Kemayoran Sub-district involved joint officers securing five PPKS and imposing tire removal sanctions on 18 parking violators. Meanwhile, in Johar Baru Sub-district, four PPKS were netted and eight parking violators were also sanctioned with tire removal.

"Specifically in these two sub-districts, illegal parking is relatively rare, unlike in Tanah Abang, Sawah Besar, and Menteng," he excused, Tuesday (8/5).

"Illegal parking attendants and PPKS caught were taken to the Kedoya Social House for rehabilitation," he stated.
