Safe Food and Drug Use Socialization Held in West Jakarta

As many as 500 residents of Kedoya Selatan, Kebon Jeruk, and Wijaya Kusuma Urban Village, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta attended the socialization of safe food and drug use, Thursday (8/7).

The activity was initiated by the Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BBPOM) in Jakarta.
Safe and Nutritious Food Education Held at Petukangan SelatanHead of Jakarta BBPOM, Sofiyani Chandrawati Anwar said many people still use natural medicines or herbal medicine without knowing their safety status.
He hopes that this education will increase public understanding of the importance of choosing safe and high-quality medicines and natural ingredients.
"Please check the product distribution permits through BPOM Mobile app. Avoid to be easily tempted by impressive and exaggerated claims," she said.
She explained the socialization was held twice. First was on Jalan Kedoya RT 12/02, Kedoya Selatan, and on Jalan Swadaya 1 RT 01/06 Wijaya Kusuma.
"Socialization included dialogue sessions, questions and answers, and simulations of using the BPOM Mobile application," she added.
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Charles Honoris, who also attended the event, hoped that the public would ensure that every drug and food product they consume has a distribution permit from the Food and Drug Authority to guarantee its quality and safety.
"Ensure the safety of your drugs and food with Cek KLIK, which checks the packaging, label, distribution permit, and expiration date," he explained.
