45 Guidance Street Vendors Refused to Be Relocated

As many as 45 guidance street vendors of North Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives Agency (KUMKMP) Sub-Department whose kiosks demolished at Jalan Pluit Raya, Pejaringan, refused to be relocated to Pluit Village Mall and Lorong 103 Koja. 

The city administration is still waiting for street vendors to register, but in fact they refused to be relocated to our two guidance locations, namely in Pluit Village Mall and Lorong 103 Koja

Head of North Jakarta KUMKMP Sub-Department, Bangun Richard stated the reason of street vendor refusal is because objected to the rent. 

"The city administration is still waiting for street vendors to register, but in fact they refused to be relocated to our two guidance locations, namely in Pluit Village Mall and Lorong 103 Koja," he stated, Wednesday (7/1).

Currently, he added, those street vendors are renting kiosks in other locations and becoming illegals. 

His party, he continued, deplores of street vendors' act who refuse to be relocated, whereas it could increase their income.

Previously, North Jakarta Administration had demolished 63 kiosks of ex-JU vendors at Jalan Pluit Raya, Penjaringan. It is related to road and channel refunction in the area and also to anticipate traffic congestion.
