The city administration through PD Jaya Market conducts cheap market operation in order to help citizens meeting basic needs during Ramadhan and Eid-ul Fitr. As planned, the operation is implemented in 73 markets which are spread in 5 areas for 15 days starting from July 2-16. It is marked with launching 33 trucks by Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama at City Hall, Thursday (7/2).

Director of PD Jaya Market Djangga Lubis stated every day the operation will be conducted in 10 markets. The implementation itself cooporates with State Logistics Agency (Bulog). "The operation will be spread in 10 markets every day and so on," he said.
He claimed the operation aims to lighten citizens' burden to get basic food during Ramadhan and to depress market price.
Cheap Market will Open in Matraman on D-7 Before Idul FitriSome commodities prepared are eggs, chicken, sugar, beef, and rice. For rice prepared is amounted to 8 tons per day, which is sold by Rp 9,000 per kilogram.
For today, such operation in Central Jakarta is held in Petojo Hilir Market. Then in West Jakarta, it will be held in Palmerah, Grogol, and Tomang Baru Market, as well as Koja Baru and Pademangan Timur Market in In North Jakarta.
While in South Jakarta, the operation is held in Kebayoran Lama and Pasar Minggu Market. And in East Jakarta, similar activity held in Klender S and Kramatjati Market.
