Legislator Supports Utilizing Underpass as Public Space

Jakarta City Council Commission D Member, Ida Mahmuda fully supports the Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung's plan to turn the underpasses into public spaces and sports areas.

 I fully support it 

She believes that utilizing the space underneath the toll as a new open area, as has been done under the Slipi toll road, can serve as an example to be implemented throughout the Jakarta area.

"This program is good in my opinion, rather than the underpass becoming dirty and not being used properly," she expressed, Friday (8/15).

She also welcomed the governor's instruction to the mayors to turn the underpasses into open spaces and gathering places for residents.

"I agree if the governor instructs the mayors to arrange, clean, and utilize the underpasses in their respective areas as places for community interaction," she added.

This step will have a positive impact on the city's beauty as well as enhance the aesthetics in the underpass area.

"The view will be better, cleaner, and more pleasant to look at. I fully support it as a member of Commission D," she stated.
