"The waste has been transported using a boat owned by Thousand Islands LH Sub-agency. The cleanup is targeted for completion by tomorrow," he said on Friday (8/15).

Lukman explained that 40 personnel are deployed daily for the cleanup, supported by 50 personnel from PPSU and SDA Sub-agency.

"The cleanup is ongoing and the amount of waste collected continues to increase," he added.

According to him, the waste along Pramuka Island's coastlines mostly consists of plastic, styrofoam, and wood. Later, the waste will be transported to Bantar Gebang Integrated Waste Management Facility (TPST).

"We also continue to urge residents to sort their waste at home to prevent accumulation," he asserted.

Meanwhile, Thousand Islands Vice Regent, Aceng Zaini, mentioned that he continues to monitor the cleanup efforts to ensure it is carried out thoroughly.

"Since yesterday, I've been checking because I want the area to be truly clean. We've also mobilized all PJLP personnel to help clean up the waste," he added.

Aceng believes that a clean environment will positively impact the increase in the number of tourists. Therefore, cleaning and beautification must be collectively maintained.

"A clean and well-maintained tourist destination will be more attractive to visitors. Moreover, the local residents' economy will also improve," he explained.
