Prone to Fire, Two Buildings Sticked Warning Sticker

Due to the building is prone to fire, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department keeps tightening fire protection system in whole storey building.

If the warning is ignored, we gonna send third and fourth warning until the last sanction

The monitoring is also coupled with strict sanction in buildings that have no adequate fire protection system. One of them is PLN Trainning and Education Center building located at Jalan S Parman, Palmerah, West Jakarta.

In the building's entrance plastered with a sticker reads "This building does not meet fire safety  standard.” Besides PLN building, the same sticket will be plastered on the Bank Windu Kencana building's door.

Both buildings are deemed have violated the Bylaw No.8/2008 on Prevention and Handling of Fire Incident.

“If the warning is ignored, we gonna send third and fourth warning until the last sanction,” said Head of Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Department, Jon Vendri, Thursday (7/2).

By that way, he hoped, it could bring social sanction to the building owner and management. He assessed, they can immediately fix the fire protection system.

“After reparation, we will do verification, whether the system has been repaired or not. If it is true, the sticket will be pull out,” he uttered.
