250 Students Participate Eating Fish Campaign Held in SDN 07 Petamburan

The Central Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture Sub-agency (KPKP), Tuesday (8/19), held socialization and education about the benefits of eating fish to students of SDN 07 Petamburan, Tanah Abang.

There were 250 students of fourth up to sixth grade participated the campaign named Gerakan Memasyarakatkan Makan Ikan (Gemarikan).

600 Students of SDN Baru 03 Educated to Like Eating Fish

Central Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Penty Yunesi Pudyastuti said this activity aims to get children used to consuming fish for brain and body growth.

"We're routinely hold the campaign in schools so that the students become smarter, healthier and stronger by eating fish," she explained.

She added that the Gemarikan Campaign also contributes to reduce stunting rate in Central Jakarta.

"We educate people about the benefits of consuming fish through video services and storytelling. We also provide gift packages of fish balls, dumplings, and presto milkfish," she added.

Meanwhile, Headmaster of SDN Petamburan 07, Eliani, admitted happy with the campaign held in the school.

"Hopefully this campaign brings positive impact for students," she stated.
