Rano Opens Business Partnership Opportunities with Ankara

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno, attended the Ankara Chamber of Commerce (ATO) Business Forum to strengthen trade and investment networks between Jakarta and Ankara, Turkey.

In his speech, Rano emphasized that Jakarta is committed to building partnerships that benefit residents and the business community.

According to him, to develop Jakarta as a global city, Ankara-Jakarta cooperation will have a positive impact on both parties.

Jakarta - Ankara, Exploring Collaboration to Improve Public Service Quality

"We came to Ankara to open opportunities for concrete collaboration, efficient transportation connectivity, reliable drinking water services, strengthening the health and creative economy ecosystems, and digitalization of public services," he expressed, Wednesday (8/20).

Through this forum, the Jakarta Government implements a measured city diplomacy strategy that connects policies with market opportunities, strengthens institutional capacity, and presents inclusive, resilient projects with global competitiveness without losing local cultural identity.

"Jakarta is ready to be a partner that provides certainty and ease of doing business, thus the benefits are directly felt by entrepreneurs and the community," he asserted.

ATO President, Gursel Baran warmly welcomed and expressed readiness to facilitate the acceleration of mutually beneficial trade and investment cooperation between Jakarta and Ankara.

"We are committed to bringing entrepreneurs together, removing obstacles, and promoting fair transactions. The signing of the cooperation agreement with Jakarta KADIN. Today serves as a foundation to increase bilateral trade and investment volumes," he expressed.

The event continued with the signing of a cooperation agreement between ATO and Jakarta KADIN to strengthen the joint promotion platform, exchange market information, and assist business actors, especially in the transportation sector, water services and urban infrastructure, as well as health—including plans for hospital development, logistics, and the creative economy.

The signing was conducted by ATO President, Gursel Baran, and General Coordinator II Vice Chairman for Economics and Investment at Jakarta KADIN, Mahir Yahya Bayasut.

In the next session, a one-on-one business matching will be held to bring together Jakarta and Ankara business actors to discuss specific needs, partnership schemes, and investment models, ranging from the supply of transportation components and smart mobility technology, water service operation partnerships, medical equipment and hospital management, to collaborations in creative economy events.
