City & Turkey Agree on Cooperation in Tourism Sector

Jakarta Provincial Government and Turkish Government agreed to strengthen cooperation in the tourism sector.

That means, by comparing it, the number of tourist arrivals to Indonesia is only one-fifth of Turkey

The agreement is stated in a meeting between Jakarta Deputy Governor, Sandiaga Uno with Turkish Ambassador, Mehmet Kadri Sander Gurbuz at City Hall, Thursday (2/15).

Through the cooperation, Sandi expressed, the city can learn from Turkey that managed to attract 32 million of tourists per year. Of that number, 10 million of them visited the capital of Istanbul.

"That means, by comparing it, the number of tourist arrivals to Indonesia is only one-fifth of Turkey," he said.

Aside that, both also talked about the possibility of investment cooperation, particularly in transportation and infrastructure.

"We also agree to make the relationship of people to people, between the culture of Turkish with Jakarta," he uttered.
