E. Jakarta PMI Assists Residents Impacted by Fallen Trees

The East Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) distributed assistances for residents impacted by fallen tree and strong wind in Setu Urban Village, Cipayung District.

We delivered the aid to residents today

East Jakarta PMI Head Section of Public Relation and Communication, Agus Bastian, said the assistances were distributed according to the urban village request.

"The assistances are distributed by the urban village rank to be more on target. We'll distribute more based on the request," he said, Friday (8/22).

Bastian detailed that the assistance provided included 17 basic food packages, five tarpaulin sheets, 17 mats, 17 blankets, 17 sarongs, 50 sheets of zinc, and eight family kit packages.

Meanwhile, Setu Urban Village Head, Dwi Widiastuti stated assistance will be given to residents whose houses were damaged by falling trees during heavy rain on Wednesday (8/20).

"We would like to thank the East Jakarta PMI for providing assistance to residents affected by strong winds and fallen trees. We delivered the aid to residents today," she stated.

Based on the data, Dwi added, there are 17 houses impacted by strong wind and fallen tree. Mostly the damaged houses are in RW 03 area of Setu Urban Village.

She continued that 50 PPSU personnel were deployed to evacuate the remaining fallen trees.

"Hopefully this can be complete today," she hoped.
