PD Pasar Jaya Do Positive Improvement, Ahok Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) admitted to happy with changes made by PD Pasar Jaya that successfully change its function as market price controllers.

Ahok told, PD Pasar Jaya can supply its own commodities currently such as egg, rice, sugar, and others by working together with a number of local producers.

"I think PD Pasar Jaya once more like property companies or developers. But, now they change, they can control the retail market price," told Ahok at City Hall, Thursday (7/2).

Later, Ahok will ask PD Pasar Jaya to supply PKK Mart that will be built in Children-Friendly Park (RPTRA).

"We will train PKK member to sell grocery items, and will take the items from PD Pasar Jaya because they using factory price which is cheaper than other groceries store which use retail price," he told.

Besides that, PD Pasar Jaya also could drive traders who selling food at very high prices.

"We will drive all traders who sell higher than market price. We also ask all Street Vendors (PKL) to sell in the market, so we can control all of them," he told.

Moreover, Ahok also hoped some Provincial-Owned Enterprises that do business in food such as PD Pasar Jaya, PD Pharma Jaya, and Food Station Tjipinang to coordinate among other so the Jakarta Provincial Government could control the food price in various commodities.
