We offer a series of projects that can be explored immediately
In the forum, which is part of the series of events commemorating 75 years of Indonesia–Turkey diplomatic relations, the Jakarta Government delegation was led by Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno.
During the forum, several investors expressed interest in collaborating on urban infrastructure and transportation development, including further discussions with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (Istanbul Ticaret Odasi/ITO).
Jakarta - Istanbul Agree to Strengthen Sister City Partnership"This forum is not just a transaction, but a bridge of knowledge, from economics to culture, whose benefits will be directly felt by the community," he expressed, Monday (8/25).
The peak event was marked by the submission of a statement of investment interest by Orhan Guven, Managing Director of the Globalasia Indonesia–Turkey Consortium (Globalasia), regarding the plan to build an international hospital in Jakarta.
This hospital will be developed with an integrated service model inspired by Basaksehir Cam and Sakura City Hospital in Istanbul, a large-scale healthcare complex known for its integrated specialty centers.
With that model, cross-specialty services will be more effective, easily accessible, and support the improvement of healthcare workers' competencies.
Rano asserted, this international-scale health investment aligns with Jakarta's vision as a global city that prioritizes the quality of public services, especially health, as a primary focus.
"We are open to collaborations that strengthen the service ecosystem, technology transfer, and the ongoing development of healthcare professionals' competencies," he added.
The forum also opens a business communication channel for infrastructure and urban transportation projects. According to him, this aligns with Jakarta's sustainable development agenda, from mass transit systems, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) areas, to water management technology.
"We offer a series of projects that can be explored immediately," he asserted.
This activity received appreciation from Chairman ITO Sekib Avdagic for the event. He also emphasized the importance of strengthening trade networks between Istanbul and Jakarta amidst global economic recovery.
"ITO is ready to become a bridge for concrete collaboration," he added.
Consul General of Indonesia in Istanbul, Darianto Harsono, emphasized that the forum is a real embodiment of the synergy between the Indonesian Consulate General in Istanbul and the Jakarta Government.
"We see concrete interest. The Indonesian Consulate General will oversee the follow-up to ensure this investment opportunity moves into the implementation stage," he explained.
As the closing of the series of activities, the Jakarta delegation conducted a field visit to Basaksehir Cam and Sakura City Hospital to directly observe the integrated service management and clinical facilities as a reference for developing an international hospital in Jakarta.
