Pramono Hands Over Rusunawa PIK Pulogadung Keys to Support Decent Housing

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung symbolically handed over the low-cost rental apartment (Rusunawa) unit keys to residents during the 2025 National Housing Day (HAPERNAS) ceremony at Rusunawa PIK Pulogadung, East Jakarta, on Monday (8/25).

"We must be there whenever citizens need housing," 

This event shows the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to providing decent housing for its citizens.

In his remarks, Pramono emphasized the importance of the government's presence in meeting residents' housing needs. He explained that vertical housing or apartment development is a solution due to the limited land availability in Jakarta.

"I always say that we must be there whenever citizens need housing," he asserted.

He noted that this effort aligns with the directive from President Prabowo Subianto to provide housing, whether in the form of apartments or landed houses. However, Pramono added, providing landed houses in Jakarta is almost impossible.

The Jakarta Provincial Government itself has developed the SIRUKIM app, which allow s residents to transparently register for renting rusunawa units. This app offers equal opportunities to all eligible residents to obtain housing units.

"This includes people with disabilities," he mentioned.

Currently, the Jakarta Provincial Government owns more than 35,000 rusunawa units. He hopes that these low-cost rental apartments will have a positive and beneficial impact on the community.

"We especially want to thank the legislative body for their support in preparing the rusunawa units in Jakarta," he expressed.
