This Year, Jakarta Government Starts to Build 10 Rusunawa Towers

Jakarta Public Housing and Residential Areas (PRKP) Agency will build 10 new rental low-cost apartments (Rusunawa) in 2020. The construction process uses a multiyear scheme.

Jakarta PRKP Agency Acting Head (Plt), Sarjoko mentioned, his side will build 31 towers with total 5,835 units.

"The construction process is still below 10 percent, because it's started in early 2020. Some of the contracts are in December 2019 and the rest is in early 2020," he informed, Wednesday (8/19).

In general, he assessed, facilities and infrastructures in this Rusunawa will be the same with other Rusunawa based on the standard needs for a decent, healthy, safe, and comfortable residence. Apart from that, it also supports the implementation and development of social, cultural, and economic life.

"Rusunawa is built for Jakarta residents with low income," he added.

The contract value for construction of 10-multiyear public housing reaches Rp 2.2 trillion for physical contracts. 10 Rusunawa construction is targeted to finish in 2021.

"Maybe we will evaluate the multiyear scheme according to the available budget. If it cannot be completed in 2021, then we will extend it to 2022 because no realization in 2019," he conveyed.

According to plan, PRKP Agency will build Rusunawa PIK Pulogadung, Rusunawa Jalan Inspeksi BKT Ujung Menteng, Rusunawa Karang Anyar, Rusunawa Cakung Barat, Rusunawa Penjaringan, Rusunawa Padat Karya, Rusunawa Cipinang Besar Utara, Rusunawa Pulo Jahe, Rusunawa Kelapa Gading Timur, and Rusunawa PIK Pulogadung Tahap II.
