Students of SDN Ancol 01 Encouraged to Enjoy Eating Fish

The Gemarikan (eating fish) campaign was held by North Jakarta Food Security, Marine, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency in SDN Ancol 01, Jalan Parang Tritis, Ancol Urban Village, Pademangan District. The campaign was attended by 150 students.

Head of Jakarta KPKP Agency, Hasudungan A Sidabalok, said this campaign is an annual routine program in an effort to increase fish consumption rates in Jakarta, as well as instill awareness and good habits of consuming fish from an early age.

"According to statistics, fish consumption in Jakarta is still below the national average. We will continue to educate the public, especially children," he said, Tuesday (8/26).

He hopes that this activity can be a fun and educational experience for children, and can raise awareness of the importance of consuming fish.

North Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Unang Rustanto, said this activity aims to increase national fish consumption, especially in North Jakarta, which is targeted at 47 kilograms per capita per year in 2025, while also promoting local fishery products to the wider community.

"Students are taught about fish consumption through fun activities like dancing, singing, and storytelling. They also receive fish-based packages, including fish balls, fish sausages, and presto milkfish," he said.

The program, he added, this program aims primary school students and to be held again in six districts starting from August 26 until September 11.

"This activity is expected to support the acceleration of stunting reduction and fulfill the nutritional needs of the people of North Jakarta," he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the students, Naura Fadwan Meidinata, admitted happy to participate the campaign. Moreover, she really likes eating fish.

"I love eating fish cooked by my mother, I eat it every week. Today's event was also fun. We danced and sang together, also listened to a story," she admitted.
