Fire Engulfs Shophouse and House in Pela Mampang

A fire broke out a shophouse and a house on Jalan Amal I, RT 05/05, Pela Mampang Urban Village, Mampang Prapatan Sub-district, Wednesday (8/27).
No casualties reported in the incident
South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency Head, Syamsul Huda said, he received the fire report at 7:47 AM.
"We immediately sent 50 firefighters and 16 fire engines to the scene," he expressed.

"Fire was successfully extinguished by 9.10 AM. No casualties reported in the incident," he explained.
He added the fire was suspected to have been caused by a gas cylinder leak while cooking at one of the shop houses that serves Padang cuisine.
Meanwhile, one of the residents, Reza Haryanto (27), claimed to have seen the fire directly spreading from the kitchen area of the restaurant. Locals had tried to help extinguish the fire, but were unsuccessful.
"I appreciate the personnel who quickly arrived at the scene to handle this fire," he stated.
