We warmly welcome what the Minister offers

Pramono welcomed the program and also asked the Head of Jakarta Empowerment, Child Protection, and Population Control Agency (PPAPP) to follow up on it.

Violence Against Women and Children in Jakarta Declines

"We warmly welcome what the Minister offers," he expressed, Friday (8/28).

He expressed his desire to make Jakarta a role model city that is friendly to women and children.

Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister, Arifatul Choiri Fauzi, hopes that Jakarta could continue to collaborate on programs to reduce cases of violence against women and children.

Those programs are the Indonesia Shared Space Program, which is a continuation of the child- and women-friendly village and urban village program. Then, there is the expansion of the utilization of call center 129 and a consolidated data system for women and children based on villages and urban villages.

Based on the analysis by the PPPA Ministry, there are five main factors contributing to violence against women and children, namely economic problems, family parenting patterns, gadget factors, environmental factors, and child marriage.

"So, we have a shared commitment to find solutions on what we can do between the ministry and the Jakarta Government to reduce the number of violence against women and children," he furthered.

He emphasized the importance of family as a solution, by strengthening the role of women and protecting children.

"Because this problem originates from the family, but the family also becomes the solution to resolving the issue, so we hope to strengthen our families again, empower women, and protect our children," he closed.
