Jakarta Government Set to Roll Out Housing and Sanitation Policy Packages

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended a limited coordination meeting held by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs to discuss about the finalization of economic policy packages and workforce absorption programs launched by President Prabowo Subianto.

"One relates to housing and the other to sanitation,"

Pramono stated that the Jakarta Provincial Government will soon implement several policy packages in the city, particularly in the housing and sanitation sectors.

"There are several policy packages to be implemented in Jakarta. One relates to housing and the other to sanitation," Pramono mentioned at Jakarta City Hall on Monday (9/22).

Vertical Housing Transformation Must Be Disability-Friendly and Socially Just

To implement these programs, the Jakarta Provincial Government is collaborating with Ministry of Housing and Ministry of Creative Economy. In the housing sector, Jakarta will provide 23,000 housing units across various areas in the city.

The housing development will also involve partnerships with several contractors in Jakarta.

"For the housing program, there are 23,000 housing units in Jakarta by utilizing facilities provided by Ministry of Housing," he noted.

Besides housing, the Jakarta government will also run an environmental sanitation program with full support from the central government. This program is expected to improve the quality of life for Jakarta residents.

Pramono emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government will promptly implement central government policies as they are expected to have a positive impact on Jakarta. The housing provision program is estimated to absorb around 100,000 workers.

"The workforce needed is nearly 100,000. This program aims to absorb labor during economic pressures," he said.
