Transjakarta Partners with KNKT for Comprehensive Safety Evaluation

PT Jakarta Transportation (Transjakarta) has partnered with the National Transport Safety Committee (KNKT) to conduct a comprehensive audit and evaluation of service operations.

We collaborate with KNKT

This step is a response to the Jakarta Governor's directive following three accidents that occurred in September 2025, involving two operators working with Transjakarta, namely Damri and Steady Safe.

Transjakarta President Director, Welfizon Yuza, emphasized the company's serious commitment to handling this case and conducting a thorough evaluation.

"Safety is our top priority. We collaborate with KNKT because of their expertise and independence in conducting accident investigations," he expressed, Tuesday (9/23).

He stated that this cooperation includes in-depth investigations into the causes of each accident, whether related to human factors (HR), operational procedures, or technical issues of the fleet. The results of these investigations will serve as the basis for Transjakarta to formulate comprehensive system improvements.

He hopes that Transjakarta and its partner operators could continue to provide public transportation services that offer a sense of safety and comfort to customers through this collaboration.

"We recognize the need for improvements in various aspects. Therefore, we will work closely with the KNKT as we have done before to identify areas that need improvement," he added.

Previously, Transjakarta had also implemented the recommendations of the KNKT, including 15 safety actions. Ensuring a safe track, even outside the corridor, is one of the tasks that requires support from various parties.
