Jakarta Tops Medal Count at POMNas XIX with 34 Gold Medals

The Jakarta government is still securing its position from the top spot in the medal tally at the National Student Sports Week XIX (POMNas) with a total of 34 gold, 20 silver, and 17 bronze medals.

The competition was quite intense until the fourth day

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency Head, Andri Yansyah said, as many as 71 medals have been won after the Jakarta contingent added 15 gold medals, 11 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals from Swimming, Athletics, Chess, Wushu, Taekwondo, and others.

"The competition was quite intense until the fourth day, so the medal counts on the fourth day were closely matched," he expressed, Tuesday (9/23).

He appreciates those who have worked hard, demonstrating their ability to continue winning medals and achieving optimal results.

"The target set by the contingent management team was to win 10 gold medals on the fourth day, but they managed to win 15 gold medals," he explained.

He advised the student athletes from Jakarta to stay focused on the remaining competitions and to demonstrate fighting spirit to bring glory to Jakarta as the overall champion.

"I want you guys to stay focused and show their best abilities to achieve satisfying results," he said.
