Jakarta Swimming Aims 24 Gold Medals at POMNas 2025

The Jakarta Swimming sports contingent is targeting 24 gold medals at the 19th National Student Sports Week (POMNas).

In the competition which took place at the Jati Diri Stadium Swimming Pool, Semarang, Central Java, Jakarta student athletes have succeeded in winning five gold medals.

Acting Head Division of Performance Improvement for Youth and Sport Agency, Rahman Defiandi said the Jakarta contingent is participating in eight swimming finals today, with the target of winning gold for all of them.

"Thankfully we won five gold medals," he said, Tuesday (9/23).

He hopes that with the ongoing competition, the Jakarta Swimming team can win at least 24 gold medals. At the previous POMNas, the Jakarta Swimming team won 23 gold medals.

"Our target is overall champion. Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is also targeting overall champion at the 2028 National Games," he admitted.

Meanwhile, one of the athletes, Flairene Candrea admitted happy to win the gold medal.

"I won three gold and other medals at the previous edition. This competition is my preparation ahead of SEA Games," she admitted.

As for information, the Jakarta swimming sport also won two silver and six bronze medals.
