Go-Jek Suggested to Focus on Goods Transportation

If it is focused on goods transportation indeed it is allowed based on the content of article 10 in Government Regulation No. 74/2014 on Public Transportation

The existence of the technology application Go-jek is still considered illegal. Because, the government has banned the motorcycle used as public transportation in accordance to Minister Decree No. 35/2003 on the Implementation of People Transportation on Road by Public Transportation.

Vice Head of Jakarta City Transportation Council, Edi Nursalam stated the Go-jek can operate legally if the company focuses on provision of goods transportation service for citizens. 

City Supports Cooperation Between Go-Jek and Transjakarta

"If it is focused on goods transportation indeed it is allowed based on the content of article 10 in Government Regulation No. 74/2014 on Public Transportation," he expressed, Tuesday (7/7). 

According to him, until this time, the motorcycle is not one of the public transportations which is allowed by government. Considering, besides it is not the compulsory test vehicle, safety factor is also still not listed in the law.

"By Go-jek, the government is supposed to be able to make improvements to create official, convenient, and legal public transportation," he disclosed.
