City Government Quickly Assists Fire Victims in Tangki Urban Village

The Jakarta government's quick response in assisting fire survivors in Tangki Urban Village, Taman Sati Sub-district, West Jakarta, received praise.

RW 06 Chairman, Tangki Urban Village, Andi Mapatundru said, the Jakarta government has played a role in helping to lighten the residents' burden affected by the fire from all aspects.

"If it’s already like this, we only ask for help from whom else besides the government. Alhamdulillah (Thank God), they responded quickly, like the mayor who came here yesterday," he expressed, Tuesday (9/30).

He hoped that this handling continues until the end, especially regarding the government's future assistance for the burned house or the needs of school children

"Thank you for helping my people. Until now, no one has complained about hunger or anything else because the evacuation post has provided ready-to-eat food and other supplies," he explained.

RT 07/06 Chairman, Tangki Urban Village, Sulaiman explained, after the fire was extinguished, residents immediately tried to clean up the debris to facilitate access to the road.

"Including dismantling the remaining walls, rubble, and searching for items that may still be left," he explained.

He added that fire survivors, including himself, are at the evacuation site. However, some have also taken refuge at the homes of their relatives.

"We also directed residents to report to the available posts regarding assistance such as burned civil administration documents or others. The government has already opened services, so please make good use of them," he said.

As information, the fire burned hundreds of houses in a densely populated area on Jalan Tangki, Gg Langgar last Sunday morning. As a result, 319 households totaling 1,268 people had to lose their homes.
