Personnel Handle 530 Fallen and Leaning Trees in East Jakarta

The East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency recorded handling 540 fallen and leaning trees from January to September 2025.

This is done by sweeping trees every day

East Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Dwi Ponangsera detailed, handling was conducted on 306 fallen trees and 224 leaning trees.

"Those 530 trees are spotted in ten sub-districts. Most trees toppled and snapped during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds," he expressed, Monday (10/6).

East Jakarta Green Lane and Cemetery Section Head, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita added, tree pruning is continuously being intensified, especially on trees whose branches are lush and hanging over the road or blocking streetlights and traffic signs.

"This is done by sweeping trees every day," he explained.

He explained, tree pruning is sometimes also carried out as a follow-up to community complaints, especially to prevent falling trees.

"We always prepare two cherry picker units to cut down large and tall trees or those that are difficult to climb," he stated.
