June to July 6, 1,195 Trees in South Jakarta Pruned

The South Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency (Tamhut) has noted that 1,195 trees has been pruned fom June to July 6, 2025.

South Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency Head, Djauhar Arifien said, today's tree pruning was done to anticipate fallen tree during rainy season accompanied by strong winds.

"This is done following the categories of light, medium, to heavy, including logging and handling of fallen trees. Handling the tree is also to create more security and comfort," he expressed, Monday (7/7).

Central Jakarta Prunes 6,805 Trees Prone to Falling

He explained, pruning was dominated by the medium category with a total of 608 trees, and followed by 324 trees at heavy level.

"And 167 with pruning at minor level. We also handle 96 fallen trees," he explained.

He explained that handling the highest trees was spotted in Pancoran Sub-district with 125 trees and followed by Kebayoran Baru with 11 trees.

"We just tidy up in light pruning, cut a lot in medium pruning, and cut off from top to bottom of the stem that sticks down and prone to fallen," he explained.

He added it was also done based on public reports via JAKI app, requests from the urban village and the results of team monitoring in the field.

"So, if you see trees prone to fall, report it to us. We'll immediately process it soon," he stated.
