Ahok Questioned the Policy of BPK

Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama claimed he was asked to fill food price unit by Audit Agency (BPK). Therefore, he questioned the agency back whether the policy has been applied for the other officials’ level of minister. 

I'm wondering were the operational money of ministers checked , even the staple food money?

According to Ahok, the detail request of what kind of food eaten by BPK everyday had also been happened to him when he served as 2005-2006 Regent of East Belitung. 

"Now the case repeated in East Belitung. My food allowance that has not ever been tampered by BPK, now they ask the detail, how much governor salary Rp 7 million, household food allowance Rp 50 million," expressed Ahok, City Hall, Tuesday (7/7).

He also questioned whether the same thing also be applied for other officials. Not only that, he urged BPK members to be brave conducting the shifting burden of property or locally known as pembuktian harta terbalik. 

"I'm wondering the operational money of ministers checked, even the staple food money?,” he asked. 

He also wants the BPK to conduct the shifting burden of property in accordance to Law No.7/2006 on Ratification Verification of PBB Against Corruption. On the regulations, if the property of public official is not in accordance with cost of living and tax paid, then the property will be seized, and they are named as a cor ruptor. 

"I want to challenge all officials in BPK to prove the tax they paid, how much their property, cost of living, where are their children study? If they cannot prove it, they cannot be a BPK member, cannot investigate people as they will get in trouble," he asserted.
