Ahok Ensured PMKS Taken Care Well at Social Institution

The city administration would take stern action against people with social and community problems (PMKS) who are still recklessly roaming in the capital, especially during Ramadhan. Those who are netted will be sent to social institutions.

If they (PMKS) are jobless, we will send them to social institutions

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T Purnama said the PMKS who were housed in social institutions would be cared well.

12 PMKS Netted in South Jakarta

“If they (PMKS) are jobless, we will send them to social institutions. Actually stay in social institutions is much better, they get meal worth Rp 28 thousand. Our service isn’t as bad as you think," exclaimed Ahok, at City Hall, Friday (7/3).

Ahok conveyed that they asked to sign the agreement not to come back to Jakarta. If it is violated, they will be jailed. "We make agreement system. If they sign it, they will not roam the streets anymore. But if not, they will be jailed in accordance with the Criminal Code (KUHP) and fraud on Jakarta Provincial Government,” he stated.

In Jakarta, there are at least 27 social institutions to accommodate the netted PMKS. Among them are Tresna Werdha Budi Mulia 1, Bina Insan Bangun Daya 2, Tunas Bangsa, Cipayung, Bina Laras, Kedoya and Bina Insan.

As known, South Jakarta Social Sub-Department has netted a beggar, Tibang (70), who can collect money by Rp 3.6 million during Ramadhan. He was netted in Radio Dalam area on Wednesday (7/1).

He usually operates around Kebayoran Lama and Kebayoran Baru Markets. He was netted twice by Social Sub-Department.
