Gandeng Danantara, Jakarta Siap Bangun PLTSa

Partnering with Danantara, Jakarta Ready to Build a PLTSa

Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, said that the Jakarta Provincial Government and the Danantara Management Agency are collaborating in developing the Waste-to-Energy Power Plant (PLTSa) project in Jakarta.

It has been agreed by both parties

Pramono said that Jakarta's infrastructure is ready to develop this project compared to other regions.

"It has been agreed by both parties that the project will be developed in Jakarta," said Pramono, Wednesday (10/15).

Jakarta Ready to Build PLTSa to Handle Waste Problems

This collaboration is expected to handle the capital's 8,000 tons daily waste volume. Furthermore, Jakarta also has a large waste stockpile in Bantargebang, amounting to around 55 million tons.

With a waste input requirement of approximately 2,500 to 3,000 tons per PLTSa, Jakarta has the potential to build four to five PLTSa, where each PLTSa will produce approximately 35 megawatts.

Pramono assessed tht Jakarta's waste problem will be resolved if the city has the necessary infrastructure and if there's interest from investors, contractors, and major global operators to collaborate with the city. Furthermore, there's potential for collaboration with PLN.

"We can certainly collaborate with PLN, because if the rate is 20 cents per kWh, there's no need for a tipping fee. Therefore, I'm confident the waste problem in Jakarta will soon be resolved," he emphasized.
