Jakarta Secretary Marullah Matali emphasized that the Jakarta Provincial Government has not reduced the number of Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU) recipients, despite the Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) cuts from the central government.
"I want to emphasize that KJMU recipients are not being cut at all,"
He made the statement during Jakarta DPRD's Budget Committee (Banggar) meeting together with Regional Government Budget Team (TAPD).
"I want to stress, and I hope this gets proper attention, that the Jakarta Provincial Government has not reduced KJMU recipients," stated Marullah on Tuesday (10/21).

In fact, during the 2026 General Budget Policies and Temporary Budget Priorities (KUAPPAS) discussions, which were initially projected at Rp95 trillion, the government planned to add 10,000 new recipients, bringing the total to about 26,000 students.
However, due to DBH cut from the central government, this plan had to be adjusted.
"Despite the DBH cut, we're still adding 2,500 new recipients," he mentioned.
With that adjustment, Marullah informed that KJMU recipients in 2026 will increase to around 19,000 students.
"In 2025, it's 16,976; in 2026, the number doesn't decrease. Instead, it increases by 2,500. This reflects the Governor's commitment," he said.
He noted that the plan to add 10,000 recipients had to be scaled back as some of the budget was redirected to other public priorities.
"I want to emphasize that KJMU recipients are not being cut at all. The increase simply had to be adjusted to the city's fiscal capacity," he asserted.
