Preventing Budget Accumulation, Pramono Urges Accelerated Project Auctions

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung is pushing for the acceleration of the project auction process for the next fiscal year. This aims to solve the issue of budget realization backlog at the end of the year.

The auction process can be held in November or December

He explained that this policy is based on the experience of budget management at the central government, where the bidding process can already begin in November or December.

"Thus, the experience at the central government at that time was that auctions and such at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing could be held starting from November to December. That process then accelerated procurement and absorption in the government at that time," he explained, at Jakarta International Veledrome, East Jakarta, Thursday (10/23).

Therefore, Pramono permitted the auction conducted by the Jakarta government to take place in November and December, and the work could begin at the start of the following year.

"So, in the same way, I give permission for the auction to be held, allowed in November and December, but the implementation will be at the beginning of next year," he explained.

This effort is expected to accelerate the budgeting spending pattern, where the bidding process only begins in March or April and implementation can only be done around October or November.

The duration of this spending realization process is believed to cause a backlog of budget absorption in December.

"I'll start by stating that the auction process can be held in November or December. And its implementation will be in January or February so that not everything piles up at the end of the year," he stated.
