Commission D Ensures Development Programs Run Efficiently and Reach Targets

Jakarta City Council's Commission D is pushing for adjustments to several development programs to ensure more efficient, planned, and targeted implementation. This step is being taken through a reorganization of activity schedules, including the establishment of several multi-year projects.

to get optimum results

Chairwoman of Commission D, Yuke Yurike, said the results of discussions with the Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Agency (CKTRP) indicated the need to adjust the implementation time for several activities previously planned for 2026.

"There are several activities that were originally budgeted for 2026, but after being reviewed, their implementation can be postponed to 2027 to get optimum results," she said, Tuesday (10/28).

One of the projects designated as a multi-year project is the construction of the Batavia Building for the Jatibaru Technical Service, which will run from 2025 to 2027. The building has now been demolished and will soon be rebuilt. However, the planning process and preparation of the Detailed Engineering Design (DED) will begin later this year.

"Physical implementation is scheduled for 2026, with payment terms continuing until 2027," she added.

Yuke continued that the adjustment policy was not only related to the project's technical aspects, but also a step to increase the efficiency of regional budget use.

She also emphasized the importance of construction monitoring and the active role of the CKTRP Agency in issuing building permit recommendations. She stated that strict monitoring is essential to ensure the safety and suitability of public buildings in Jakarta.

"We request CKTRP Agency to ensure that unsuitable buildings are promptly addressed. Monitoring must be strengthened to prevent incidents that endanger the public," she stated.
