"The third Pasar Tumbuh will be held on Friday, October 31, in the courtyard of East Jakarta Mayor's Office, from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM," he informed, Thursday (10/30).
Taufik explained that participants include urban farmers from all 10 sub-districts in East Jakarta who have productively used their surrounding land.
Their activities include cultivating crops, aquaculture, livestock farming, and processing harvests across various locations such as government offices, gardens, farming groups, public facilities, home yards, green alleys, RPTRAs, health centers (Puskesmas), regional hospitals (RSUD), and unused land.
“Products featured will include fresh vegetables grown using hydroponic and conventional methods, fresh fruit, eggs, tempeh, tomatoes, bottle gourd, eggplant, chili, milk, juice, coffee, herbal drinks, and plant seedlings. There will also be a variety of food and drinks made from agricultural, fisheries, and livestock products,” he explained.
In addition to urban farming bazaar, there will also be free services available for visitors, such as pet vaccinations (for cats, dogs, civets, and monkeys), plant clinic consultations by the Center for Seed Development and Plant Protection (UPT PDBPT), and free seed distribution.
“There will also be a morning exercise session led by the Youth and Sports Sub-agency, live music from the Culture Sub-agency, a fertilizer-making workshop, and a ‘kontak petani’ session,” he mentioned.
According to him, Pasar Tumbuh aims to promote urban farming as a part of the lifestyle for East Jakarta residents.
“Besides being a platform for promotion and networking among urban farming enthusiasts, this event also serves as an educational opportunity and a means of improving the local economy,” he emphasized.
