Jakarta Boys' Sepak Takraw Team Secures Second Win at POPNAS XVII

Jakarta Boys' Sepak Takraw team managed to secure the second win at the National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) XVII 2025 after defeating Bali in a match at Cempaka Putih Sports Center (GOR) on Monday (11/3).

Jakarta's Sepak Takraw Team Manager for POPNAS XVII, Yusuf Majid, expressed satisfaction with the team's performance after winning all three sets convincingly.

“This is our second win for the boys' team. Yesterday, we also won against Lampung,” he mentioned.

In the match against Bali, Jakarta's first team dominated with scores of 15–2 and 15–6. The second team secured the win with another straight-set victory, 15–13 and 15–4. The third team completed the sweep, also winning in straight sets, 15–7 and 15–6.

This result strengthens Jakarta's position at the top of Pool B in sepak takraw competition at POPNAS XVII 2025.

Although the team performed strongly, Yusuf noted they remain focused for their final group-stage match against Riau Islands Province, set for Monday afternoon.

He hopes the players will maintain their performance and secure full points in this phase.

For information, Jakarta is in Pool B alongside teams from Bali, Lampung, Riau Islands, and South Sulawesi. Only the group winners and runners-up will advance to the quarterfinals.

"We're scheduled to face Riau Islands this afternoon and South Sulawesi tomorrow. We hope to give our best and finish as the top team in Pool B," he emphasized.
