Head of Tanah Abang District's Water Resources Unit, Eli Menawan Sari said channel improvement is run because the channel was narrowed so that when it rained, water often overflowed and flooded the road.
"We install new 60 x 60 cm u-ditch," Eli said, Monday (11/3).
The work that involves 10 personnel has been running since October 27 and is targeted for completion in two months.
"We're optimistic that the water will flow to Krukut River after this," she added.
Meanwhile, Pujiati (35), a local resident, appreciated the work and hopes it can be completed on time.
"The area was often flooded during rain since the channel was unable to flow the water," she admitted.
