Collapsed Retaining Wall Repair in South Utan Kayu Completed

The repair of the collapsed retaining wall in Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village, Matraman District, East Jakarta is completed. Repair was carried out on a 10-meter long retaining wall at Gang Saluran RT 15/01 which collapsed on Wednesday (10/22) at around 4 PM, at the same time as the collapse of two access bridges to residents' homes.

The process took four days

Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village's Head Section of Economy and Development, Listia Yuniandita said her side directly deployed seven PPSU personnel to evacuate landslide material after the incident. Local people were also involved.

"The process took four days," she said, Wednesday (11/5).

Listia added that the repair was run in six days from October 28-31 and continued on November 3-4. Then it was completed fully on Tuesday (11/4).

Head of RW 01, Utan Kayu Selatan Urban Village, Eko Wibowo appreciated the local urban village rank and Matraman District's Water Resource Unit for their collaboration in repairing the collapsed retaining wall and bridge.

"The repair is complete. Hopefully the road will soon be asphalted again," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Matraman District's Bina Marga Unit Head, Nessy Oktavia explained the asphalt road repair can only be run next year.

"The repair must be listed in next year's budget," she admitted.
