Blue Taskforce Personnel Handle Collapsed Channel in Makasar

As many as 12 personnel of Blue Taskforce are deployed to repair collapsed channel on Jalan Sumur Jambu, RT 08/05, Makasar Urban Village, East Jakarta.

Head of Makasar District's Water Resource Unit, Nurdin said the landslide was handled quickly, especially considering that five houses at the scene were affected.

"We deploy 12 personel. It was started today and is targeted for completion in the next 15 days," he said, Wednesday (11/5).

He explained that the repaired water channel is approximately 16 meters long. However, it is possible that this will increase as the channel is also damaged at other points.

"The water channel will be constructed using river stones, with a thickness of 30 centimeters at the bottom and 20 centimeters at the top. The height of the retaining wall will be adjusted to the existing ground conditions, estimated at around 80-120 centimeters," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Makasar District, Kamal Alatas admitted technical handling was immediately carried out by the local Water Resources Unit ranks after the landslide material was cleared by PPSU personnel.

"I remind residents not to build buildings on water channels," he appealed.
