POPNAS 2025, Jakarta Men's Table Tennis Team Wins Gold

The Jakarta Men's Table Tennis team won a gold medal at the 17th National Student Sports Week (POPNAS) 2025, after defeating Central Java in the final match at the Otista East Jakarta Sports Hall on Wednesday (11/5) evening.

Naufal, representing Jakarta in the second match, kept his hopes alive by defeating Rio from Central Java, leveling the match at 1-1. Third singles player Daffa Khair then defeated Satria, giving Jakarta a 2-1 lead.

Naufal, who returned to play in the fourth match, successfully defeated Zeldan from Central Java and secured the score at 3-1.

The Jakarta Contingent's Table Tennis Manager, Zaenuddin, said this was the first gold medal his team had won for the Jakarta Contingent at the 17th National Sports Week (POPNAS) 2025.

"They showed their tenacity and fought until the end," he said.

Meanwhile, in the women's table tennis team event, Jakarta contingent was forced to settle for a bronze medal. Their campaign ended in the semifinals of the 2025 XVII National Sports Week (POPNAS) after losing to the Central Java Province women's table tennis team.

"We are grateful that they got bronze, so we have won a total of two medals, he stated.
