Hospitals in Jakarta Serve Patients Without Discrimination

The news that a hospital in Jakarta refused to treat Repan (16), a Baduy resident who was a victim of a mugging on the Jalan Pramuka Raya area, Central Jakarta, is confirmed to be untrue.

The claim of rejection is not true

Head of Jakarta Health Agency, Ani Ruspitawati, explained that her rank has verified and cooperated with several healthcare facilities in the Cempaka Putih and Pulogadung areas. The results confirmed that the allegations were unfounded.

"The claim of rejection is not true," she said, Friday (11/14).

SMA 72 Jakarta Explosion Victims Receive Medical Treatment

Her rank has cooperated with several hospitals, including the Jakarta Islamic Hospital (RSIJ) Cempaka Putih, Yarsi Hospital, Rojak Hospital, Evasari Hospital, and Cempaka Putih Regional Hospital.

Based on an examination of administrative records and confirmation with management, no patient data was found with the identity as reported.

The management of RSIJ Cempaka Putih has also issued an official statement stating that it never treated the patient. No patient named Repan is recorded as having received services.

Ani added that the search results showed that the patient in question had received initial treatment at St. Carolus Hospital and then received further services at Ukrida Hospital, West Jakarta.

She explained that the suspicion of refusal arose because after initial wound treatment, the patient was directed to report to the police for a medical examination.

"This procedure is part of standard management in cases of alleged violence, so that medical documentation can be used as evidence in legal proceedings," she added.

The Jakarta Health Agency has also received CCTV footage showing the process of providing medical services to patients. This visual evidence supports the verification results and illustrates the services provided.

"We urge the public and the media to always verify the accuracy of information through official channels, and to use the Health Agency's complaint mechanism if they encounter any suspected service violations," she continued.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is committed to ensuring that all residents have access to fair, safe, and dignified healthcare services. All healthcare facilities in the capital provide services to the public openly and without discrimination.

"We will follow up quickly and transparently if there are any suspected violations," she said.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin, hopes the police can immediately resolve the robbery experienced by Repan.

"We hope the perpetrators can be apprehended quickly and prosecuted according to the law. We also urge the public to remain calm, increase vigilance, and immediately report any information that could assist the investigation to the authorities," he stated.
